Give Up Complaining

Synopsis: Today we continue in the season of Lent and our series "Give" where we discuss giving up a number of things this season as we draw closer to Easter. Today we will focus in on the concept of complaining (how that is related to control - from last week) and how this is one of the most widely accepted sins in society; even Christianity. Complaining says a lot about the posture of our heart towards God! We'll continue looking at the story of the Israelites from last week and how their heart posture differed from Moses. Give Up The Rush

Synopsis: Today we begin to wrap up our Lent series "Give" where we have been discussing intentionally giving up specific patterns in our lives to honor God (ie: control & complaining). This morning we focus on the final component of our Lent fast: The Rush. How can we live both a "hurried" life and a "peaceful" life? We'll look at the story of Mary and Martha and discuss the ways that rushing has infiltrated our culture. But the conclusion is this: we NEED to exchange the hurried for the purposeful.
