The purpose of this series is to push us to deepen our understanding of love, to realize that a Jesus-love is the driving force of our faith, and that love is more than a feeling - it requires action. This morning we continue our "The Lies We Believe" series. This series is meant to engage some of those in-the-back-of-your-mind-thoughts that many people struggle with like "I don't matter" or "I'm too broken" or "I have to earn God's love." These are the kind of thoughts that kick off our anxiety or whittle away at our faith. We believe that God has a different narrative for us that is rooted in His truth. This morning, Pastor Nick engages the idea that we might be too broken for God to work through us by telling the story of a judge named Samson. This morning we bring to a close our series called "Love Does" which was loosely based on the book by Bob Goff of the same title. Today, Pastor Nick brings a sermon called 'Love Doesn't Give Up' where we look at Luke 18, Romans 5 and John 13. We'll talk about a couple of stories - one from Bob Goff's life and a story about a missionary named Nate Saint. Finally, we'll close the service with 1 Corinthians 13.
